Public Intoxication

Jan. 26: A 48-year-old intoxicated female visitor was found stretched out on a chair in the Cougar den of the WSC. She was unconscious with an open bottle of vodka on the floor beside her. Provo paramedics transported her due to her physical condition. She has a prior history of being arrested on campus.

Suspicious Activity

Jan. 23: Police responded to a call from a concerned female about a white male in his 40s taking pictures outside of the MOA. The man was wearing a blue coat and jeans. The female thought he was taking pictures of her and other girls. Responding officers were unable to locate him.

Disorderly Conduct

Jan. 21: A male subject was seen repeatedly tossing his two or three year-old child in the air during the course of the basketball game. When police asked him to stop he refused until told he would be cited.

Jan. 24: Two male students were found at B66 near the ROTC building using power tools in the building to sand edges on a bicycle frame. Police directed them to leave.

Jan. 25: A male was reported throwing snowballs at the windows of Carroll Hall from the balcony of Young Hall. The subject left after officers arrived at 10 p.m.

Harassment

Jan. 22: A female victim reported getting an anonymous text message from her ex-boyfriend in the WSC. He has a history of harassing her and the case is under investigation.

Jan. 24: Witnesses reported a person standing on public property at 900 East handing out anti-Mormon literature. The man is from England and shows up every three or four years.

Jan. 25: A female student in Hinckley Hall received an obscene sexually oriented phone call at 5 p.m. The male caller asked her if she would help him with a physiology project. She told him she didn't have a lot of time. He asked her to find a spot outside to lie down. She talked to another student who had received a similar call. She hung up.

Welfare Check

Jan. 22: A male and female were found sleeping in the courtyard of the JFSB at 5 a.m. They were found sleeping under some blankets and they said they had just fallen asleep.

Jan. 26: Police responded to a call from witnesses about an ill student in his vehicle. The student was just taking a nap.

Lost Items

Jan. 21: A student reported losing his iPod. He said he believes it is for sale on the Internet. The case is currently under investigation.

Jan. 21: A firearm was found in the Marriott Center following the basketball game. The small handgun belonged to a male visitor who had been attending the basketball game. He discovered it missing when he got home. The visitor said he carries it in his ankle holster everywhere he goes.

Crime Prevention Tip:

When you get a call from someone who starts asking personal questions and wants to engage you with anything you're uncomfortable with, hang up immediately.
